Susan Bower

Susan Bower, AIA, NCARB, LEED GA, has over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial design. She completed her Master of Architecture at Princeton University, New Jersey, and her Bachelor of Architecture with high distinction at the University of Kentucky. Independent studies were completed at Konglige Danske Kunstakademi, Copenhagen, Denmark, and McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.

Her awards include AIA Saint Louis 2011 Design Award in Architecture; AIA Saint Louis 2007 Design Award in Interiors; At Home Magazine for First Place 2011 in Small Remodel less than 1,000 s.f. and Second Place for Addition Project; At Home Magazine for First Place 2008 in Historic Renovation; Best Contemporary Design; and Best Remodel Less than 1000 s.f.; Best in Exhibition Design from Print Casebooks 9; Best in Category from ID International Design Magazine; and Project Design Awards by New York Architecture-Volume One.

Her work is published in Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, and Building Stone. Saint Louis projects have been cited in At Home Magazine and Saint Louis Homes & Lifestyles

Susan has served on the faculty of Parsons School of Design and at Washington University in Saint Louis School of Architecture. She has been a guest critic at Barnard College, Columbia University, Ohio State, New York Institute of Technology, and the University of Pennsylvania. Susan has received grants from the New York State Council on the Arts; the New School for Social Research; and The Graham Foundation.

Susan is a current board member at the Miriam School, and is a past member of the Beautification Committee for Downtown St. Louis Inc. Susan is a member of the American Institute of Architects, a LEED Green Associate, and is nationally accredited with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Susan lives in a renovated mid-century modern home in Creve Coeur, Missouri, with her husband, Stephen Leet, her sons Alex and Will, and Radar, the wonder dog. Susan stirs the pot at Mitchell Wall Architecture & Design
